[There's been a freak rainstorm on Koboh and Cal has, naturally, gotten caught in it. Which isn't a big deal; he's been stuck in the rain plenty of times and survived just fine.

A cough or some sneezing or the odd sinus infection aren't likely to do him in any time soon. Probably.

And it's still warm, so he's not worried about that. It's the slippery rocks that give him a run for his credits, causing him to focus harder on his climbs and to grip the rocks more fervently. The last thing he needs while clearing out remaining pockets of Raiders or patrolling Imps is a concussion because he slipped.

Not...that it would be the first time for that, either, but it's not his preferred state of being.

Besides, Merrin would never let him live it down, after an initial fussing time make sure he's not in danger of actually dying or anything. Cal realizes, though, that said fussing might not be so bad...

No. No, he's not allowed to crack his head open in the hopes of getting an extra kiss from Merrin. It would hurt. The head-cracking, not the kiss. Maybe. It's Merrin.

All the same, he makes his soggy way back to the Mantis free of head injuries, though he rubs his right wrist, the joints and the muscles starting to act up.]

I'm back.

[He announces himself, unsure if anyone is on board or if they've holed up in the saloon. No matter, he heads back to the engine room to peel off his wet clothes. Let no one say he isn't a little bit responsible!]

[ Merrin had found it too noisy in the saloon for her tastes, so she'd slipped away as soon as it seemed like she wouldn't be missed for a little while. If she'd been expecting Cal to turn up here first, well. That's just a bonus. She hears him come on board and casually makes her way back from what's become her own room now that she travels with him more often than not.

He's most of the way undressed by the time she comes to stand in the doorway, gently clearing her throat to announce her own presence just in case he'd already become lost in thought. ]

I told you it looked like rain.
